Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, quantum trip in 4K on June 30

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the third installment in the Marvel superhero adventure, will be released by Disney in 4K Ultra HD on June 30.

Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and his partner Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) have settled into a comfortable family life. But Cassie (Kathryn Newton), Scott's daughter, is passionate about the quantum world and sends a good part of the family core to two distinct subatomic universes. Worlds where a threat in the making embodied by Kang (Jonathan Majors) hovers.

A 31st “strategic” MCU film

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is both the 31st MCU film and the third feature-length film centered on Ant-Man, joined in 2018 by The Wasp. Featuring a prestigious cast including Michelle Pfeiffer as well as Michael Douglas and Bill Murray, Quantumania is directed by Peyton Reed, who has brought to the big screen all the films dedicated to Ant-Man.

With a good cast and an experienced filmmaker, we could legitimately expect a resounding success, especially since Quantumania is a “strategic” film. It is indeed also the first opus of Phase V of the MCU and marks the arrival of Kang, the villain succeeding Thanos.

Polite entries but far from the expected peaks

The critical reception remained at best polite, even frankly hostile, and admissions (735,000 spectators in France and 475 million dollars in world receipts), without being able to be qualified as a flop, do not live up to the peaks targeted by Disney blockbusters.

The 4K of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania already in pre-order

The 4K version of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, whose pre-orders are open, will offer Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1.

The list of bonuses is not yet official, but we should find the classic blooper, a duet audio commentary from the director and screenwriter Jeff Loveness (Rick & Morty) and a big documentary on the Lang-Van family Dyne. Note that Fnac will sell the film in a limited edition enriched with an exclusive 72-page booklet. Released June 30.
