Coming from a popular background, Jeanne Vaubernier (Maïwenn) becomes the lover and source of gallant income of Count Du Barry (Melvil Poupaud). The latter decides to present her to King Louis XV (Johnny Depp) thanks to the complicity of Richelieu (Pierre Richard).
