In the footsteps of the Adaptive Xbox controller launched in 2018 by Microsoft, Sony presented at the start of the year an elegant and modular solution to meet the needs of gamers with motor disabilities. Then named Project Leonardo, the system was renamed Access controller for its marketing, which will take place on December 6, at the indicative price of 89.99 euros.
Access PS5 controller, collaboration with AbleGamers, Stack Up and SpecialEffect
Designed with accessibility experts, the controller is presented as a modular circular kit on which you can interchange buttons, triggers and joysticks in order to be able to play “more easily, more comfortably, and over longer periods of timeâ€. For this project, Sony collaborated with organizations specializing in the field such as AbleGamers, Stack Up and SpecialEffect. The latter had also already worked with Microsoft for the Adaptive Xbox controller. Two of these controllers can be paired together, and even with a "normal" DualSense joypad.
