Since the end of 2021, the Netflix streaming platform has diversified its activity by launching an offer of free mobile video games, reserved for its subscribers. For the moment, Netflix games are only available on mobile devices, but the platform has assured this year that it wants to extend its activity to computers, TVs and other devices with the Netflix application.
Info Bloomberg confirmed with Netflix Game Controller app
A statement corroborated last spring by the Bloomberg agency, which had discovered an interesting feature hidden in the code of the Netflix application on iOS (see our news item Netflix Games on TV with the smartphone as a controller). And the rumor is confirmed since Netflix recently launched an application called Netflix Game Controller on the AppStore.
Netflix Game Controller: the gamepad smartphone
It transforms the screen of the smartphone into a joystick, so as to control a game on the big screen. Currently Netflix games are not available on the TV app, but the description of the app leaves no doubt: “Coming soon to Netflix. Play games on your TV with the Netflix Game Controller. This application pairs with your TV and allows you to play games on Netflix with your smartphone or mobile device."
