Thirst for Evil by Orson Welles Bombshell in 4K

A masterpiece of Orson Welles and cinema, Touch of Evil returns in 4K on October 20 under the leadership of BQHL. Do not miss.

The explosion of a bomb in the American sector of Los Robles, a small border town between the United States and Mexico, has raised fears of complications between the two countries. A Mexican policeman, Mike Vargas, then on his honeymoon, decides to get involved in the investigation and discovers the unsavory methods of his counterpart, Hank Quinlan. Vargas and his wife (Janet Leigh and Charlton Heston) find themselves trapped between corrupt local police and the area's gangs...

Tick-tock tick-tock

Although hampered by a conflict with the Universal studio (the film will be re-edited against the director's advice), Thirst for Evil, which has been visible for a few years in a version close to that of the original, is unquestionably a film matrix that inspired both Coppola and Fincher. Its masterful opening sequence shot (the ticking of the bomb is gradually replaced by the hectic rhythm of Mexican music) is matched only by the staging of the film, where innovative framing and sublime B&W form a work of crazy beauty and great modernity (the film was shot in 1958).

Thirst for Evil will be released in a Prestige Collector box set at BQHL on October 20th. On the menu:
