In 2018, Spider-Man: New Generation had the effect of a bomb. Not only in animation, but also in the world of superhero films. Bob Persichetti knew how to dust off the moribund genre of superhero cartoons in cinema while redefining the narrative specific to Marvel franchises, thanks to the introduction of the multiverse. Best of all, the film was centered around a brand new, devilishly likable Spider-Man, Miles Morales.
Even better than New Generation?
That is to say if the sequel to the film released this year was extended at the turn. The least we can say is that Kemp Powers, at the helm of this Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, was not unworthy. Besides, this second opus is almost better than the first. Certainly the type of film that we like to watch again as it contains small details to discover over the course of the different viewings. Multiverse obliges, the director had fun with the backgrounds. We will have warned you…
Only a few days until the 4K release in limited edition Steelbox
This is good since Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is released in simple 4K and in a sublime limited edition Steelbox box set on October 4 (SPHE), the latter including the 4K Ultra HD (HDR Dolby Vision) of the film as well than Blu-Ray. Obviously, it will also be available in a single Blu-Ray edition, but also on VOD for purchase on September 28 and for rental on October 4. Mark your calendars!
