According to the latest issue of Business F1 magazine (via 9to5mac) Apple would be willing to drop $2 billion per year to get its hands on the exclusive broadcast rights to Formula 1, a sum approximately twice as high as what currently affects FOM (Formula One Management), holder of the commercial rights to F1, for global broadcasting.

Apple is reportedly interested in this area after the success of its bid for Major League Soccer (MSL), the American football league. F1 would thus arrive on Apple TV+ via a dedicated subscription. Initially, Apple will only be able to acquire distribution rights in the United States, but would sign a contract that would grant it rights worldwide as they become available.
The American rights are currently held by ESPN until 2025, when Apple would take control. And from 2029 for France for example, Canal+ holding the rights until that date. To be continued…
