According to journalist Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, often well informed about the behind-the-scenes of Apple, the brand is already preparing a new version of its Apple Vision Pro headset, less expensive, with the release of the original model scheduled for early 2024 in the USA.
Apple Vision Pro more affordable without external screen?
The Apple Vision Pro is announced at an indicative price of $3,499, and Apple is targeting a price ranging between $1,500 and $500 for the more affordable version. Discussions are going well internally to find out how to lower the production price, and in particular the external front screen would disappear. This displays a realistic, real-time rendering of the user's eyes - a function called EyeSight by Apple - for simpler communication with people around.
Apple Vision Pro favored over augmented reality glasses!! !!
Other elements possibly sacrificed: the processor (which would be closer to that of the iPhone than the Mac), the number of cameras and the resolution of the internal screen. Apple is apparently focusing more on this headset than on a pair of augmented reality glasses that were also rumored some time ago.
