However, smaller companies are already testing the waters, and demand even seems very reasonable if we are to believe the success of the crowdfunding campaign for this new ring called Ring One.
The Ring One is equipped with state-of-the-art sensors to monitor heart activity, temperature, blood pressure, sleep and other biometrics, including menstrual cycles. The ring also keeps tabs on your physical activity, notably thanks to accelerometers and gyroscopes. Everything can naturally be viewed on the screen of a wirelessly connected smartphone.
The Ring One, ten times lighter than a smartwatch
A rotating dial around the ring allows you to switch from one mode to another, with the possibility of making NFC payments, and even unlocking your vehicle, as long as it is Digital Key 2.0 compatible, standard present at Tesla, Hyundai and other manufacturers.
The Ring One charges with a supplied support. It is made of grade 2 titanium and medical epoxy making it hypoallergenic and ten times lighter than a smartwatch. Available in a range of colors - steel, anodized black, gold, rose gold - the ring is available between $300 and $800 depending on the finish.
