The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) recently surveyed more than 500 American children aged 10 to 17 about Christmas gifts.
Zoom in on the Christmas video game wishes of American children
72% of them want products related to video games first, ahead of money/vouchers (70%) or technology such as smartphones and smartwatches (62%). And if you're curious, books received 26% of the votes. Note that only 22% of children want games in physical format, while the majority prefer subscriptions to gaming platforms (39%), or virtual currency (29%). For the rest, consoles are mentioned by 38% of blonde heads, 32% for accessories.
A word to Stanley Pierre-Louis, President and Director General of the ESA
"More than 212 million Americans play video games regularly, so it's no surprise that games are at the top of this year's wish list," said Stanley Pierre-Louis, president and CEO of the ESA.
