To make a long story short, the Borea Connect speaker series incorporates most of the characteristics of the Borea Active modulo some welcome developments in terms of connectivity, giving the brand's latest products great versatility.
Triangle Borea Connect, the new features
In addition to advantageously replacing a traditional Hi-Fi system or being used to diffuse a sound atmosphere thanks to their Bluetooth compatibility, the Triangle Borea Connect have two new connectors. An HDMI ARC jack for retrieving and enhancing sound from the TV (see photo below) and connected sources, and an asynchronous USB-C port for enjoying digital Hi-Res Audio files from a PC or Mac. Namely, the on-board Dac -ESS 9018K2M- is a 384 kHz/32-bit specimen compatible with 11.2 megahertz DSD.
Triangle Borea Connect, the main specifications
For the rest, we find all the specifications of the Borea Active speakers. Two-way amplified bass-reflex models, to enjoy your favorite music, simply connect the sound source directly to the Borea Connect speakers, plug them into a power outlet and that's it!
To make listening even easier, as already mentioned, Bluetooth 5.0 APT-X compatibility is required to stream your tracks stored on a suitable device (smartphone, tablet, computer, game console, etc.) or your playlists through your subscription to a music platform.
On the amplification side, in Class D, the Triangle Borea BR02 Connect deliver a power of 2 x 50 W, 2 x 60 W for the Triangle BR03 Connect. In terms of connectivity, both are ready for all configurations. Judge for yourself, in addition to the HDMI ARC and USB-C connectors already mentioned, they have a stereo RCA input, a 3.5 mm mini-Jack auxiliary, an optical, a coaxial and a Phono input. Without forgetting an LFE output.
Triangle Borea BR02 Connect and BR03 Connect, EFS tweeter
The Triangle BR02 BT and BR03 BT benefit from the passive Borea tweeter, that is to say equipped with the EFS (Efficient Flow System). This consists of a 25 mm silk dome topped with a phasing piece, specifically developed to homogenize the diffusion of high frequencies. Result, significantly less directivity, regardless of the listener's location in the room.
Similarly, the speaker membrane is placed within a horn driver (see photo below) in order to limit edge effects and thus preserve clarity.
Triangle Borea BR02 Connect and BR03 Connect, 100% cellulose mid-boomer
For its part, the mid-woofer speakers, 16.5 cm on the BR03 Connect and 13 cm on the BR02 Connect, are built around a membrane made of 100% natural cellulose pulp (paper). The cone profile has received special treatment to reinforce its rigidity and improve its frequency response.
Triangle Borea BR02 BT and BR03 BT, DVAS cabinetmaking
Under the acronym DVAS (Driver Vibration Absortion System) hides a completely reworked cabinet with cutouts intended to accommodate additional internal reinforcements. These, carefully placed, considerably reinforce the body to eliminate parasitic vibrations.
Final details, the Triangle Borea Connect are delivered with a remote control, a 3 m OFC copper speaker cable to connect the two speakers together, a power cord and eight non-slip pads to decouple the speakers. Also note, optional high stands (positioning the speakers at ear level), S01, S02 and S04, are available in black or white.
