Five films for an anti-Christmas menu, it's a gift

The countdown is on: only a few days left before the magic of Christmas invites itself into our cozy homes. Christmas and its procession of good feelings, its fabulous stories around second chances and miracles that we no longer expected... Here is the marshmallow version. For the trash version, a (non-exhaustive) list of some essential titles with the promise of a Christmas as red as hemoglobin or super-crazy.

Black Christmas

As an aperitif, Black Christmas directed in 1974 by Bob Clark. A campus deserted for the holidays, a handful of students persecuted by a particularly tough killer... A chilling and perfectly mastered B series which lays the premises for the slashers to come, Halloween and Friday the 13th among others... Santa Clause is garbage

To calm our cold sweats, let's take a comedy from home (initially a play), Santa Claus is garbage, carried by the Splendid troupe (Thierry Lhermitte, Gérard Jugnot, Anémone, Anne-Marie Chazel and Josiane Balasko) and produced by Jean-Marie Poiré in 1982. Faced with adventures as crazy as each other, the crazy volunteers of the SOS Détresse Amitié association would almost make us regret a banal and insipid Christmas...

The Santa Claus is Trash is recently available on Netflix

Bad Santa

As a main course, a certain Bad Santa (Terry Zwigoff, 2003) played by Billy Bob Thornton (The Gray Man, Fargo). Behind his poorly tailored Santa Claus costume hides in reality a safe-cracker... A crazy comedy in which a dwarf disguised as an elf, a kid feeling bad about himself and a furious waitress will give our imposter a hard time.Available in Blu-Ray at web merchants by clicking on Bad Santa

The Children

Enough of comedies because with dessert, we will return to a little horror shot from fifteen years ago, The Children by Tom Shankland (2008). For those who consider that Christmas is only for children, try a stay in a cozy and isolated chalet in the company of these charming little bundled up Damien, but also know that this is your last Christmas...Available on Blu -Ray at web merchants by clicking on The Children

Silent Night

Finally, let's end this festive menu on a silent note. Silent Night (trailer below), which marks the big return of John Woo, relates the vengeful crusade of a father (Joel Kinnaman) who lost his son. A crazy film which has the particularity of dispensing with dialogue... Christmas night will be long and magical despite itself, in its roughness. Silent Night is announced on December 29 on Prime Video
