On January 17, Samsung held its annual Unpacked event during which the three new smartphones in the Galaxy S range were announced, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, S24 Plus and S24 (presentation to come).

But the Korean manufacturer did not stop there since it was inspired by Apple - once is not customary - for a short teaser at the end of the conference: in the space of a very short video, Samsung revealed that it was working on a connected ring, the Galaxy Ring. A surprise for some, but not for all since the rumors and patent filings on this subject have already been one after the other for a while, and we report them to you religiously. Apart from explaining that it will be an accessible and powerful accessory for health and well-being, Samsung has not specified anything further, therefore neither price nor date.

At the end of 2022, rumors were already reporting that the Korean manufacturer would be working with several suppliers to reserve the modules and components necessary for construction of such a gadget. And already in 2021, Samsung had filed a patent with the American office for a ring including an optical heart monitor and an electroencephalogram. The ring would also be able to control other devices remotely, such as a smartphone or television.
