The Last House on the Left Edition Cult', Wes Craven's masterpiece editorialized like never before

The Last House on the Left, the first film by Wes Craven (Scream), still remains today one of the most unhealthy realistic horror films in the history of cinema. This upcoming mega box set, filled with essential supplements for a good understanding of the film, promises to be as daunting as it is nightmarish.

One evening, Mary and Phyllis, two young women raised in the puritan tradition of deep America, decide to have a night out in town on the occasion of the birthday of one of them. At the corner of a bad street, they meet a young man who offers to buy weed. For them, it is the beginning of a complete nightmare. They will be kidnapped, tortured then killed by a gang of torturers led by David Hess who, after their misdeeds, will find refuge in the house of Phyllis' parents.

A former literature professor, Wes Craven was inspired by Bergman's The Source for this film shot in 1972, which has since become a grueling cinema classic. ESC Éditions will release a limited Cult' 3 Blu-Ray box set packed with extras on February 21.
