Good news for owners of a Smart Android TV or Smart Google TV, the MyCanal application now supports Ultra HD 4K and HDR Dolby Vision on all relevant content, live or on demand.
MyCanal+ in Ultra HD 4K and HDR Dolby Vision on 100% of Philips 2022/2023/2024 Smart TVs££££
The verification could be carried out on a Philips OLED907 model, a reference in the 2023 range and everything works perfectly, both for live content and that available on demand. Likewise, HDR Dolby Vision is also required on Apple TV+ branded content accessible free of charge via myCanal (see photo below).
To enjoy live UHD 4K Canal+, you must of course choose the Canal+ UHD channel in the program schedule (circled in red in the second photo below) and not channel 4 (circled in red in the first photo below).
Consider updating your TV to the latest version of the system (with Widevine L1-17672 DRM support).
UPDATE: Ultra HD 4K and HDR Dolby Vision compatibility ultimately concerns Philips Smart TVs 2022, 2023 and 2024 vintages and not the 2024 references as initially announced.
