We're not going to hide it, the release of Denis Villeneuve's new film, Dune Part II, is rightly the cinematic event of the beginning of the year (click on Dune 2 for our full review).
Beyond the reflection on the freedom of peoples to dispose of their resources, on fanaticism and religious radicalism, Villeneuve's film, which sails a hundred cubits above current production, was thought and designed for the big spectacle and this is felt during each of the almost 3 hours of film. Whether it's the sound design, Greig Fraser's photography giving pride of place to monochrome shots, the almost invisible special effects or Joe Walker's crazy editing, everything is beautiful, almost bewitching.

Even bigger, stronger and longer than Dune 1, Dune Part II is already available for pre-order from web merchants (we know that the date of July 10 currently displayed is not definitive).
