According to data from the Omdia firm, the TCL brand has once again established itself in 2023 as number 2 worldwide in volume on the TV market. A great achievement for, now, one of the main players in the global television industry and one of the leaders in consumer electronics.
TV Market 2023, performances very close to TCL and Hisense ££££
As specified in our publication on Hisense a few days ago (see our TV Market 2023 news, Hisense number 2), the two groups Chinese performed very close to each other. However, if they both claim to occupy second place in the 2023 TV market behind Samsung, both relying on figures compiled by Omdia, a subtle difference exists in their communication: TCL is delighted to be the number 2 brand, Hisense the number 2 company. This means that Hisense sales figures also include those of Toshiba televisions that came under Chinese ownership in 2017 (purchase of the factories and operating rights of the brand for 40 years). In total, for 2023, Samsung occupied 18.6% market share, Hisense (and Toshiba) 13% and TCL 12.5% (25.26 million units).
