Considered one of the greatest westerns ever made and perhaps even Sergio Leone's greatest film, Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) is set to be released in 4K HDR Dolby Vision on the 15th May in France for the very first time. The film underwent photochemical restoration via the Film Foundation supervised by Martin Scorsese from the original 35mm Techniscope negative, in partnership with the Paramount archive team and L'Immagine Ritrovata in Italy.
Spaghetti Revisited ££££
This new edition is also expected to feature supplements including audio commentary from the hosts of the Spaghetti Westerns podcast, Jay Jennings and Tom Betts; another with John Carpenter, John Milius and Alex Cox; yet another with film historians Sir Christopher Frayling and Dr Sheldon Hall, as well as members of the film's cast.
Other nice bonuses will be included (if identical version in the USA) including the modules An opera of violence, The wages of sin, Something to do with death, Railway: revolutionizing the West, and numerous photo galleries presenting the places of yesterday and today.
