In the same vein as The Essential Games Music Collection, Atari partners with Microids Records for Atari 50 - Anniversary Soundtrack, a compilation on vinyl of the most iconic tracks from the history of video game pioneer Atari . The collection brings together several Atari titles since 1983 as well as new compositions remastered by Bob Baffy, who has worked in the video game field for many years.
“Atari programmers, game designers and engineers have contributed significantly to the adoption and expansion of music and sound effects in video games,†said Ethan Zoubek, president of Atari. The Atari 50th Anniversary Soundtrack will be a fitting tribute to their work, and we are thrilled to collaborate with Microids to bring this celebration to life on vinyl."
As a limited edition vinyl, the vinyl will be available at from April 17, 2024 at the indicative price of 29.99 euros.
