The US adaptation of the French spy thriller intended for Paramount+, The Department, will have Joe Wright (Atonement, Darkest Hour) as director. For the moment, the director has been hired to produce the first two episodes. Jez and John-Henry Butterworth (Ford v. Ferrari, Live, Die, Start Over) were hired to write all 10 episodes of the first season.

Launched in 2015, the original French series The Legends Bureau by Éric Rochant focused on the division of France's external security service responsible for training and support for undercover agents during long-term missions.
