Take a giant blender, throw in actors who systematically pose in a suspended moment before saying an unfunny line, add a ton of ugly special effects, sprinkle it all with a perfectly idiotic dramatic issue: Santa Claus has been kidnapped and if we don't find him, no Christmas this year, then intersperse it all with limp fight sequences between poorly made creatures and tiring actors.
In short, two minutes of total artistic emptiness including the only question that remains unanswered after seeing it: how much brainstorming did it take before someone in the studio validated this thing? While waiting for an answer, the official synopsis specifies: “After the shocking kidnapping of Santa Claus (JK Simmons) at the North Pole, Commander Callum Drift (Dwayne Johnson) of the ELF task force must team up with the hunter bounties the world's most infamous (Chris Evans) to save Christmas.”
Bonnie Hunt, Kiernan Shipka and Lucy Liu will also star in the action-adventure comedy, which takes place in a new universe and could potentially launch a franchise. The film will be released in theaters on November 15, before a possible launch on Prime Video in 2025.
