First photo of Ser Duncan the Great actor in Game of Thrones spin-off

While House of the Dragon season 2 did not succeed in creating the same enthusiasm as for its first season in terms of audiences, the Game of Thrones steamroller continues with Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, filming of which has just started. The future spin-off will take place 100 years before Game of Thrones.

HBO and the Max platform are releasing the very first official photo of the series Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, a new spin-off of Game of Thrones, filming of which recently started in Belfast, Ireland, for broadcast on Max scheduled for the end of 2025.

Two unlikely heroes in Westeros££££

We can see in the image the actor and former rugby union player Peter Claffey (Vikings Valhalla, Small Things Like These) who will play Ser Duncan the Great. A little reminder of the official pitch: “A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes roamed Westeros... A naive but courageous young knight, Ser Duncan the Great, and his little squire, Egg. In a time when the Targaryen lineage still reigns on the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon is still remembered, great destinies, powerful enemies and dangerous exploits await these unlikely and incomparable friends.

The series is based on three short stories by George RR Martin, released over the space of ten years: The Knight Errant (1998), The Liege Sword (2003) and The Dragon's Egg (2010). The first season will adapt the first book, with two additional seasons expected to cover subsequent works.
