Famous French people in John Woo's remake of The Killer

NBC Universal's streaming service, Peacock, has just announced the release date for the new version of John Woo's 1989 action classic, The Killer. With famous French actors in the cast.

The remake of The Killer, directed by John Woo himself, will be available on August 23. The film originally starred Chow Yun-Fat as a Hong Kong hitman who accidentally blinds a young nightclub singer during a shootout. In order to finance his cornea operation, he agreed to kill a high-ranking triad leader.

Paris is in the place££££

Brian Helgeland (LA Confidential, Mystic River) was in charge of the screenplay for this reboot, the action of which was moved to Paris. Game of Thrones and Fast & Furious star Nathalie Emmanuel plays Zee, an infamous assassin known as the Queen of the Dead. When she refuses an assignment from her boss (Sam Worthington) to kill a young blind woman named Jenn (Diana Silvers), she loses all her allies and attracts the attention of a savvy police investigator, Sy (Omar Sy). The couple is caught up in a sinister criminal conspiracy that will force them to confront their criminal past. Éric Cantona, Tchéky Karyo and Grégory Montel complete the film's cast.
