The Decameron: Netflix’s new crazy medieval series

Florence, 1348. When an epidemic of the Black Death hits the city, a group of aristocrats and their servants retreat to their immense property in the countryside. Between orgies and excessive alcohol, the handful of privileged people believe they are sheltered from chaos...

Freely inspired by the eponymous collection of Boccaccio short stories (written between 1349 and 1353), the new Netflix series created by Kathleen Jordan (Teenage Bounty Hunters) is available in 8 episodes.

Already brought to the screen by Pier Paolo Pasolini in 1971, The Decameron platform version stands out as an explosive cocktail of black humor and satirical satirical remarks. Confined in a luxurious Tuscan villa, the dominant and the dominated will witness, drunk and hollow, the spectacular erosion of class boundaries. With Amar Chadha, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Zosia Mamet and Douggie McMeekin. Available since July 25 on the platform.
