No iPhone 16 for 12-27 year olds?

Generation Z and its huge purchasing power does not seem interested in the new Apple Intelligence of the upcoming iPhone 16 range.

When it announces the iPhone 16 lineup in September, Apple will be betting big on its new suite of AI features (or Apple Intelligence) as a key selling point. But apparently that won't be enough to convince Generation Z, or consumers born between 1997 and 2012.

Morgan Stanley poll: AI not a top concern for Generation Z?££££

That's according to an internal survey conducted by investment bank Morgan Stanley among 575 of its interns. These 12-27 year-olds (although we can still assume they're over 18 at Morgan Stanley) apparently have a lot of purchasing power and are a prime target for the latest tech trends. The famous survey therefore, with 93% of interns owning an iPhone, reveals that only 4% of them see AI features as an essential characteristic in choosing a new smartphone.

The word to Jacob Bourne of Emarketer££££

Apple should not worry, because according to analyst Jacob Bourne (no relation to Matt Damon) of the market research and analysis firm Emarketer, AI is a long-term argument that will eventually be present among all manufacturers: it is then the most successful offer that will give an advantage to one brand over another. And knowing that Apple knows how to take care of its software, and that you will need at least an iPhone 15 Pro to take advantage of it, there is no doubt that the new iPhones (but not necessarily the 16 range) will sell like hotcakes.
