The first images are impressive, especially those of the boxing fights in the ring which, for once, come close to a real boxing fight, without make-up or special effects. The actors seem good but the feeling of having already seen the same dramatic springs many times persists. However, it is difficult to judge correctly with this single trailer. We will have to wait until October 9 to find out for sure.

The official synopsis states: "A stinging defeat has put a brutal stop to the boxing career of Esteban Osuna, nicknamed "La Máquina" (Gael García Bernal). Fortunately for him, his best friend and manager Andy Lujan (Diego Luna) is determined to bring him back to the forefront. But when a sinister criminal organization gets involved, the stakes of the first decisive match become a matter of life and death. While struggling to make a successful comeback, Esteban must confront his own demons and protect his family, including his ex-wife Irasema (Eiza González), a journalist who will find herself brutally confronted with the unflattering side of the boxing world.
