As already announced in our columns, TCL is taking advantage of the IFA show in Berlin to officially unveil the TCL NXTFrame and TCL NXTFrame Pro TV series with the stated aim of competing with Samsung's The Frame TV series.
The TCL Nxtframe TV and Nxtframe TV Pro series (also known as A300 and A300 Pro) consist of the three references TCL 55A300/55A300 Pro (55'', 140 cm), TCL 65A300/65A300 Pro (65'', 165 cm) and TCL 75A300/75A300 Pro (75'', 191 cm). The Pro references are equipped with a 3.1.2 audio pack with a total announced power of 360 W, i.e. a sound bar plus a wireless subwoofer by Bang & Olufsen, while the others only integrate a stereo sound section. TCL NXTFrame/NXTFrame Pro, main specifications££££ First obvious specification of the TCL NXTFrame/NXTFrame Pro TVs, a matte [abc]LCD[/abc] panel, consistent with the Chinese manufacturer's objective with these screens, namely to compete with the TV series The Frame by Samsung which has enjoyed increasing commercial success over the years. Further proof of this desire, the frame of the TCL NXTFrame/NXTFrame Pro TVs is removable (additional frame in the light oak colored box) to easily and quickly change the color (see photos below). Precision, the thickness of the TV is very precisely 27.9 millimeters.
For the rest, the TCL NXTFrame/NXTFrame Pro TVs are QLED models (Quantum Dots nanocrystal technology) with 93% DCI-P3 coverage, a Direct [abc]LED[/abc] [abc]Global Dimming[/abc] backlighting system for a peak brightness of 450 nits and a 144 hertz display. Of course, the HDMI 2.1 standard and HDCP 2.3 certification are included, without further information on the number of connectors concerned. The same goes for the [abc]DVB-T[/abc]2, [abc]DVB-S[/abc]2 and [abc]DVB-C[/abc] tuner, the [abc]eARC[/abc], [abc]VRR[/abc] and [abc]ALLM[/abc] features, plus HDR10, [abc]HDR10+[/abc] and [abc]HDR Dolby Vision[/abc] management. We can also mention MEMC 120 Hz motion compensation and a new anti-reflective treatment linked to the matte AG25 index panel (for Anti Glare 25) from the brand's NXTPaper tablet and smartphone screens and an anti-blue light mode. Namely, the TCL NXTFrame/NXTFrame Pro TV screens are accompanied by a new magnetic wall mount that literally sticks the TV to the wall. This does not hinder access to the connectors in any way, simply remove the panel from the wall with a simple push to connect the external source(s). A foot on wheels is also available as an option for these televisions
TCL/Bang & Olufsen partnership until 2030££££
The TCL NXTFrame Pro series is undoubtedly the first of a long list to come. Indeed, the partnership contract between TCL and B&O, which begins this July 2024, runs for the next six years until 2030, which is plenty of time for both parties to refine their synergy. Precision, the contribution of B&O sound expertise to the TCL NXTFrame Pro is not only reserved for audio equipment, the BeoSonic function developed by the engineers of the Danish firm will also be integrated into these televisions. The viewer will therefore be invited to adjust his sound environment as he wishes and to save his personal sound modes.
TCL NXTFrame/NXTFrame Pro, AI inside££££ The TCL NXTFrame/NXTFrame Pro broadcasters include various features related to artificial intelligence. In addition to the latter's intervention in image processing, it is worth noting the AI Art mode. The latter is capable of animating and/or adding sound to remote works of art, via the Internet, or stored locally on the television. Otherwise, 427 works are available for free on the TCL NXTFrame/NXTFrame Pro, the result of a partnership with the National Gallery of London. It is also possible to download 50 personal images in Full HD quality into the TV. More details later. Indicative prices still unknown.
