Marantz M4, 8-channel Hi-Fi amplifier/multiroom network player

Marantz announces the M4, a multiroom Hi-Fi amplifier and network player capable of managing four stereo configurations in as many independent rooms in a home.

The Marantz M4 multiroom amplifier is capable of delivering 100 W of power on each of its eight channels, organized into four separate stereo zones. An interesting advantage is that if more power is needed, the Marantz M4 can easily be "bridged", thus providing four 200-watt channels. The Marantz M4 also offers the possibility of being connected to external power amplifiers, in each zone, thus reinforcing the flexibility of the installation. It is also possible to connect up to four active subwoofers via the same Pre-Out connectors to enrich the sound experience.

Marantz M4, features and connectivity££££

Each zone managed by the Marantz M4 is equipped with a standalone Heos (Home Entertainment Operating System) module, allowing independent music streaming per zone via protocols such as [abc]AirPlay 2[/abc], Spotify Connect, Tidal HiRes, Deezer HiFi… not to mention web radios (Tune In). In addition, the Marantz M4 offers four USB-A inputs and four analogue inputs, considerably increasing the connection options. Similarly, the audio signal from a television can also be supported thanks to the onboard Dolby Digital+ decoder and one of the two optical inputs, the second of which can be used for another sound source.

The Marantz M4 supports playback of [abc]MP3[/abc] (up to 320 kbps), [abc]WMA[/abc] up to 192 kbps), [abc]Wav[/abc], [abc]Alac[/abc], [abc]Flac[/abc] (up to 192 kHz, 24 bits) and [abc]DSD[/abc] (2.8/5.6 MHz).

Marantz M4, control and installation££££

Of course, the Marantz M4 can be easily controlled via the Heos app but also through the most popular control platforms among integrators (Crestron Control4, AMX). A thermally controlled fan cooling system is integrated to ensure stable and optimal operation, even in confined environments. Additionally, rack-mounting options make the unit easy to install, making it a breeze to integrate into an existing audio system.

Marantz M4, integration and price££££

Designed primarily to meet the needs of integrators, the Marantz M4 simplifies the setup of multi-room systems. Heos can be used to share music with existing Marantz [abc]Hi-Fi[/abc] equipment or audio-video receivers (AV receivers). Integration of the Marantz M4 into an existing network is made easy by two [abc]Ethernet[/abc] ports, and its design makes it easy to add to a rack. By linking multiple M4 models, it is possible to create an optimal music distribution system for the whole home.
