Samsung The Premiere 8K, updated specifications and availability

The Premiere Ultra HD 8K ultra-short throw wireless video projector, equipped with a remote housing for connecting sources, unveiled by the manufacturer at CES in Las Vegas 2024 was present at the IFA Berlin 2024 show held in early September. With, as a key, some new information on its availability and its capacities…

This remote box, whose [abc]Wi-Fi[/abc] 7 communication capacity is mentioned, integrates part of the electronics of the Samsung The Premiere [abc]8K[/abc] video projector.

Samsung The Premiere 8K, peak brightness increased££££

If with a maximum diagonal of 150" (381 cm), the product retains most of the specifications previously announced (see our updated news CES 23 > Samsung The Premiere 8K, 4,000 lumens ultra-short throw video projector), the peak brightness varies significantly upwards to 4,450 nits. In comparison, the Samsung LSP9T (click to discover the full test by the AVcesar editorial team) offers a maximum diagonal of 130" (330 cm) and the Samsung LSP7T, released in 2020, reaches 110" (279 cm).

The sound section of this video projector remains compatible with technologies [abc]Dolby Atmos[/abc] and [abc]DTS:X[/abc]. Configured in 8.2.2 (against 6.1.2 initially announced), it delivers a maximum power of 100 watts by reflection via the screen, thus creating the illusion that the soundstage is in perfect synchronization with the displayed image. Of course, the Tizen Smart TV interface allows access to the main [abc]streaming[/abc] platforms. And the 4-screen Multiview functionality allowing four 75-inch (191 cm) windows to be displayed simultaneously for various content (for example, an [abc]HDMI[/abc] source, YouTube, a streaming application and a smartphone via [abc]Miracast[/abc]) is still in place.

As with the LPS9T model, this projector is designed around a triple laser source [abc]RGB[/abc], combined with a [abc]DLP[/abc] UHD 4K chip from Texas Instruments and an XPR [abc]wobulation[/abc] process. The keystone correction, autofocus and focusing functions are managed automatically, like the XGimi brand projectors. The presence of a [abc]TNT[/abc] ([abc]DVB-T[/abc]) tuner has yet to be confirmed.

The availability of this model is now announced for mid-2025. Indicative price still unknown.
