Human-machine interface Synchro, one year of tests validated££££
That's when the first clinical tests of this minimally invasive neural implant began. Since then, the technology has been used to control the iPhone, iPad and more recently the Apple Vision Pro headset. And if Synchron has recently come back into the news, it is to communicate an important milestone: the end of a one-year period of clinical tests without serious negative effects on patients. Note that Synchron's first six "guinea pigs" are people who have lost the use of their arms. In addition, this is the first test of a permanent human-machine interface approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), the body that regulates medical devices in the USA.
Technically, unlike other initiatives of the genre, Synchron's model does not require any dangerous invasive surgery, the implant being inserted through the jugular vein via an endovascular procedure (i.e. a simple incision).
