Launched in 2022, Sony's LinkBuds range welcomes three new references, including the LinkBuds Fit wireless headphones that we offer to detail here.
Sony LinkBuds Fit, main specifications££££
These headphones are distinguished at first glance by new tips and new lightweight stabilizers, improving wearing comfort. They are also equipped with the Auto Switch function which automatically transfers music playback to the LinkBuds Speaker speaker, also new to the range.
On the sound side, we find in the headphones the V2 processor, also present in the WF-1000XM5, and which optimizes noise reduction in real time. The latter works hand in hand with the Auto Ambient Sound mode which automatically adjusts ambient noise according to the environment. The Dynamic Driver X diaphragm is also present in the WF-1000XM5, for increased richness of voices and sound details.
In addition, the LinkBuds Fit support high-resolution formats [abc]High-Res Audio[/abc] Wireless (LDAC) and DSEE Extreme mode (to enhance the quality of compressed audio files). On the navigation side, there is the Wide Area Tap function, allowing double or triple contacts on the front of the ear of your choice to control playback, therefore not requiring you to directly touch the earphones.
Sony LinkBuds Fit, augmented audio reality££££
Finally, note that Sony is collaborating with the developer Niantic in the field of augmented audio reality. Thus, the game Ingress in combination with the LinkBuds Fit takes advantage of sound detection and spatialization technologies for sound information that follows your gaze.
Sony LinkBuds Fit, ergonomics and sustainable development££££
Other features include multipoint connection, instant playback and pause, Head Tracking (the position of the sound in space takes into account the orientation of your head: a guitar located on the left in the sound image will end up behind your head if you turn it to the right) for perfect realism and immersion, control by head gestures (nod to receive or reject a call, or to activate Auto Play) and voice control. Battery life increases to 5.5 hours, and up to 21 hours with the charging case. The IPX4 rating ensures splash resistance. Finally, note that no plastic is used in the packaging, and that the headphones incorporate recycled plastic materials.
Available in black, white, green, and purple by the artist Olivia Rodrigo, the Sony LinkBuds Fit match accessories sold separately (including stabilizers and case covers), also available in different colors to create a unique style.
