Kevin Costner in a film that we didn't expect, but then not at all

After being very busy with the Yellowstone series and his Horizon film saga, Kevin Costner is trying his hand at a new genre for him, the horror film.

Kevin Costner will reportedly star in, produce and co-write the upcoming horror film Headhunters, which is being created by Territory Pictures and Stone Village Films. Cinematographer Steven Holleran will make his feature directorial debut on the film, based on his idea and a script he is writing with Kevin Costner.

Mysterious Island Journey ££££

Kevin Costner will play Lazer, an American expat with a mysterious past living in Bali who recruits a group of surfers, including a local photographer, to travel to an uncharted island in search of the "perfect wave." To their surprise, the island is home to an ancient tribe of headhunters who protect the territory at all costs. Thus begins a survival adventure of "epic, bloody proportions on a tropical island that once seemed like paradise… but is actually closer to hell."

Preproduction on Headhunters is underway ahead of filming starting in November, with multiple studios and streaming platforms vying for distribution rights. Daniel Zovatto (Station Eleven) will star alongside Kevin Costner, with the rest of the casting still in progress.
