Inaugurated a few years ago by Samsung, the segment of smartphones with foldable screens remains a commercial niche, notably because of the price of the devices. And it is not the arrival of the very first model foldable in three, signed Huawei, which will change things.
Soon the folding smartphone paper hen…££££
But if you thought that all these great people were going to remain at the forefront of mobile technology for a long time, think again, because Honor has new ideas to take screen folding even further. This is shown by a patent recently filed by the Chinese manufacturer and which illustrates a sort of tablet equipped with a double central axis in a cross on its two dimensions (take a look at the illustration to better understand).
In theory, this device can therefore fold either on one axis or the other, in one direction as well as the other, the screen folding both on itself and outwards. It is difficult to know what uses such a mutant object could offer, but we are curious to be able to see it in action one day.
