Password Sharing and Hacking Continue

Despite efforts by streaming platforms to eliminate password sharing, the practice continues, as does piracy.

Netflix, then Disney+… all the big [abc]streaming[/abc] platforms have implemented their initiatives to prevent subscribers from sharing their accounts for free with third parties, which is a loss of revenue for the companies. However, the practice has not been reduced to zero.

Generation Z and Y most likely to circumvent the rules££££

According to a recent survey conducted by the Deloitte firm, 15% of respondents admit to using someone else's password for free, while 7% go through pirate streaming sites (4% are in both situations simultaneously). These freeloaders are rather young, born between 1981 and 2012 (generation Z and Y), and have the technical knowledge that makes it easier for them to "cheat".

Password borrowers and hackers, for what reasons?££££

Among account borrowers, 35% say that lack of money is the main reason why they do not respect the rules, a notion also shared by 18% of hackers. Account borrowers say 73% have been irritated by the increase in platform prices, with 53% having cancelled their subscription in the last six months for this reason.
