This could even become a habit on all Android TV and Google TV devices, since Android 15 will also be skipped, requiring to wait for Android 16, in 2026, for the next major update. This update cycle which would be increased to two years, against one, was revealed by a source from the Android Authority site. The information was reportedly announced at the last conference bringing together Android TV partners. Interesting, when we know that the competition is taking the opposite path, with LG and Samsung starting to update webOS and Tizen more frequently on their Smart TVs.
