It is one of the most significant frauds in the history of finance. In January 2008, Société Générale announced a loss of 4.9 billion euros following the actions of one of its traders, Jérôme Kerviel, who had managed to commit no less than 50 billion euros in his fraud, almost double what the bank had in equity at the time. The only person convicted at the end of the various trials that followed, Jérôme Kerviel has always been vocal about his company's responsibility.
In this first original French documentary series on the Max platform, he opens up over 4 45-minute episodes. Facing him, but never in the same room of course, are his former communications advisor, Société Générale executives (including the bank's former CEO) and journalists specializing in the case.
A documentary not without its flaws but fascinating to discover by clicking on Kerviel: a trader, 50 billion.
