CES 25 > LG G5 Oled TV, PC gaming lens with Vesa 165 Hz certification

After the first information published in our columns, almost a month ago already, concerning the LG G5 Oled TV series (see our CES 25 news > LG G5 Oled TV: 4,000 nits target), a clarification has appeared via the Vesa industrial standards group.

Indeed, the LG OLED65G5 reference appeared at the end of November in the ClearMR Vesa database (certification related to the clarity of moving images) indicated with a refresh rate of 165 Hz in Ultra HD 4K resolution. As a reminder, the LG OLED65G4 TV 2024 vintage was certified 144 Hz in 2024, 120 Hz for previous models.

LG G5 Oled TV 160 Hz, PC gaming objective££££ Why this display frequency of 165 Hz? To further emphasize the Korean manufacturer's emphasis on the gaming capabilities of its LG G5 Oled televisions (also equipped with an MLA panel via Meta 2.0 technology). With ever more powerful graphics cards, owners of a premium gaming PC (the Xbox Xeries X and PS5/PS5 Pro consoles are still limited to 120 Hz) will be able to enjoy their favorite games in 165 Hz on a television, while this type of specification was previously reserved for computer monitors.
