Counterpoint Research has released its ranking of the best-selling smartphones worldwide for the third quarter of 2024. And as in previous years, the iPhone dominates.

The various iPhones in the first three places reflect a global trend, namely that Apple smartphones are seen as a status symbol in many countries. In addition, if you have to own a premium model, the iPhone is favored since the first premium smartphone from a competing brand - Samsung in this case - is only in tenth position.
Finally, a detail that drives the point home, the iPhone 14 ranks ninth: the public thus prefers an older iPhone (released in 2022) rather than a more recent premium Android model (the Samsung Galaxy S24 was released in 2024).
