The “shoe” emoji becomes real sneakers

Inspiration is everywhere, even in an Apple emoji that - in the hands of an ingenious designer - becomes a real product.

After seeing the "shoe" emoji on his iPhone (and other Apple devices), Chinese designer Jose Wong thought, hey, what if I made a real pair of shoes out of them? Without further ado, the little drawing previously limited to punctuating a message became a leather and rubber product, available on the artist's online store at the recommended price of €219.90, in sizes 36 to 44.

It should be noted that the insole displays a print in homage to Apple's mobile processors, and that the packaging is directly inspired by the minimalist aspect of the brand's products. Another interesting detail is that if these shoes look like the New Balance 574 from 1988, it's because the icon himself was inspired by them, in homage to Steve Jobs who often wore this type of model on his feet. And the loop (of shoelace) is closed.
