Golden Globes 2025, the French film Emilia Pérez wins 4 awards

The 2025 Golden Globes honor Emilia Pérez, the unique, musical film shot entirely in the studio by Jacques Audiard, which wins the awards for Best Comedy, Best Foreign Language Film, Best Song and Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldana.

Nominated ten times, Jacques Audiard's film Emilia Pérez (click to read our review) won the award for Best Comedy or Musical, the award for Best Foreign Film, the award for Best Song (El Mal, written by Clément Ducol and Camille) and the award for Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldana who, in a moving speech, had a hard time containing her emotion.

We will also remember the speech of trans actress Karla Sofia Gason who, solicited by Jacques Audiard, was suffocated when accepting the award for Best Comedy, had these words that indirectly quoted a certain Mr. Orange: "Light always wins over Darkness. You can put us in prison, beat us but you cannot make our soul disappear (…). I won, I am who I am and not who you want me to be". So noted. Other winners of the night were The Brutalist and the Shōgun series.
