Mentioned in our generic news on the Samsung 2025 TV range (see our publication (MAJ) CES 25 > Samsung Oled, Mini LED and Lifestyle 2025 Ultra HD 4K/8K TV range), the Samsung QN990F series is therefore equipped with One Connect Wireless, a wireless box grouping together the television connections and part of the electronics.
Before returning to the Samsung QN990F TVs in detail, let's take a closer look at their key technical features, including the new One Connect Wireless box. Samsung QN990F, WHVA LCD panels££££ Announced with four references, the Samsung QN990F series brings together all the brand's expertise in LCD TVs, including a Mini LED backlighting system (number of zones unknown per diagonal at the time of writing) and a WHVA LCD panel. To summarize, the latter promises high-contrast VA LCD panels a wide viewing angle equivalent to that of IPS panels (see our CES 25 news > Presentation of TCL/Samsung LCD TV with wide viewing angle WHVA panel).
Samsung QN990F, main specifications££££ Among the other premium specifications of the QN990F screens, the Infinity Design introduced last year on the QN900D TVs, a Glare Free panel coating (see photo above) directly from the Samsung S95D series 2024 vintage further improved (click on the reference of the Samsung TQ65S95D TV to discover its full test by the AVcesar editorial staff) and a super-powerful processor equipped with 768 Deep Learning modules (compared to 512 in 2024 on the QN900D references) for an ever more bluffing of the 8K Upscaling Pro process (see photo above and below).
Samsung QN990F, One UI 2025££££ We must also mention the integration of the Art Store from Samsung The Frame Lifestyle TVs and the new Samsung One UI interface closer to that of the brand's smartphones (see photo below). Namely, Samsung One UI will be accessible by the end of 2025 to owners of a Samsung Smart TV from 2024, and even 2023, modulo the features not supported on these models due to insufficient processor resources.
Samsung QN990F, zoom on the One Connect Wireless££££ One of the main new features of the Samsung QN990F series is therefore the presence of a wireless One Connect box. Namely, the connection between the One Connect Wireless and the screen uses [abc]Wi-Fi[/abc] 7 technology while the wireless connection of peripherals to the television is operated up to Wi-Fi 6E.
To return to the box itself, we see in the photo above that the wireless connection is omnidirectional and robust: the One Connect Wireless can be hidden anywhere in a piece of furniture, it works. Otherwise its size is more compact than previous cases, it is however thicker than the latest generations.
