Like last year, the LG QNED99 Evo [abc]LCD[/abc] TV series should include two [abc]Ultra HD[/abc] [abc]8K[/abc] references, the LG 75QNED99 (75'', 191 cm) and LG 86QNED99 (86'', 218 cm). Namely, the QNED99 diffusers benefit from a Gallery design aesthetic.
LG QNED99, main specifications££££
As a reminder, the LG QNED TV series top the brand's [abc]LCD[/abc] range. Namely, the QNED99 Evo screens, like the QNED99T vintage 2024 (pictured in this news while waiting for the correct visuals provided by the brand) use the Mini [abc]LED[/abc] backlighting system (called Precision Dimming Technology at LG). On the other hand, the technology called Dynamic QNED Color Pro (95% DCI-P3) replaces the QNED Color Pro presented last year.
LG QNED99, Alpha 9 AI Gen 7 processor ££££
For the rest, we find the new Alpha 9 AI Gen 7 processor, the same as the one that equipped the QND99T TVs last year. The AI Super Upscaling features (appropriate processing depending on the nature of the image), AI Picture Pro (Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro and Object Enhancing processes) and AI Sound Pro for 9.1.2 audio virtualization are present. Not forgetting of course AI ThinQ and the webOS25 interface (the webOS Re:New program that appeared last year is still in place). A simple [abc]DVB-T[/abc]2, [abc]DVB-S[/abc]2 and [abc]DVB-C[/abc] tuner is present, plus the [abc]Canal Ready[/abc] and [abc]Fransat[/abc] certifications.
LG QNED99, what about HDR and sound?££££
Like the LG QNED92 Evo TVs, the LG QNED92 broadcasters offer [abc]HDR Dolby Vision[/abc] and [abc]Dolby Atmos[/abc] compatibility. In terms of audio, the 4.2 sound section delivering a power of 60 W should be retained. However, this needs to be checked.
LG QNED99, 10-bit IPS LCD panel 100/120 Hz native££££
In addition to the Mini LED backlighting system already mentioned, LG QNED99 TVs are built on a [abc]LCD[/abc] IPS [abc]Ultra HD[/abc] 10-bit native 120 Hz panel and a simple [abc]DVB-T[/abc]2, [abc]DVB-S[/abc]2 and [abc]DVB-C[/abc] tuner. Plus the [abc]Canal Ready[/abc] and [abc]Fransat[/abc] certifications.
LG QNED99, Smart TV ThinQ AI TV on the menu ££££
We also find the new ThinQ AI TV 2025 platform equipped with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa accessible directly on the remote control via a dedicated button. Of course, [abc]AirPlay 2[/abc] and HomeKit are on the menu. All this allows access to the internet and specific services (LG App Store online store, chat on social networks, etc.), or even directly to the web, like on a computer.
Also present, the [abc]HBBTV[/abc] compatibility and the [abc]UPnP[/abc] ([abc]DLNA[/abc]) multimedia gateway function associated with the [abc]Miracast[/abc], [abc]Wi-Fi[/abc] ac and [abc]Bluetooth[/abc] 5.1 APT-X compatibilities. The latter authorizes the pairing of a headset, a suitable speaker or the activation of the LG Sound Sync function to connect for example a wirelessly compatible sound bar with the TV. Not to mention a brand new Magic Remote control without numeric keys but with an integrated microphone for greatly improved ergonomics in voice command. Also new, the possibility via the Home Hub menu to program macros (sequence of several commands via a single click).
Also worth mentioning is the DVR function for recording your favorite programs via one of the three [abc]USB[/abc] Host ports on a suitable key or external hard drive, and the [abc]Time Shifting[/abc] function.
LG QNED99, Microsoft Copilot inside and LG AI TV££££
Available only in South Korea and the United States at launch, the LLM artificial intelligence software Copilot by Microsoft. No date has been provided at the time of writing for availability in other countries. In 2025, the Korean manufacturer announced the LG AI TV functionality accessible on the remote control via a dedicated button with a specific logo repeating the LG AI Home logo presented by the brand at the IFA show in Berlin in September. In addition to numerous interactions with image processing, LG AI TV naturally intervenes in the use of the TV. Thus, the Voice ID function recognizes the user and automatically switches to their profile with its recommendations and audio-video settings. Also new is the ability to query the TV and its AI Chatbot to resolve a problem, for example searching for a particular function in the menus or to help select the best settings according to the nature of the content being broadcast. Also new is the ability to generate your own images using artificial intelligence directly from the TV according to a credit system (one credit for one image), with the user having a stock of 100 free credits.
LG QNED99, zoom on the connectivity ££££
We note the presence of four [abc]HDMI[/abc] [abc]CEC[/abc] 2.1 inputs (one of which has the [abc]eARC[/abc] function), all compatible with [abc]HDCP[/abc] 2.3. The management of the [abc]VRR[/abc] (40 Hz to 120 Hz) and [abc]ALLM[/abc] functions is also provided. The rest of the connectivity, not specified by the manufacturer LG, should also include an [abc]optical[/abc] output plus two [abc]USB[/abc] Host ports compatible with [abc]Fat32[/abc] and [abc]NTFS[/abc] and an [abc]Ethernet[/abc] port. Likewise, [abc]MP3[/abc], [abc]AAC[/abc], [abc]Dolby Digital[/abc], [abc]WMA[/abc], [abc]VP9[/abc], [abc]HEVC[/abc], [abc]Xvid[/abc], [abc]VC-1[/abc], Mpeg, Mpeg 2, Mpeg 4 and [abc]Jpeg[/abc] compatibilities should be ensured.
