Although the LG OLED77W5 TV (77", 196 cm) was conspicuous by its absence on the Korean manufacturer's stand at CES in Las Vegas 2025, which was held from January 7 to 10, it was nevertheless presented by the brand to the jury in the run-up to the show and therefore won a CES Innovation Awards prize. Why was it completely overlooked by LG afterwards? Mystery.

But this screen should see the light of day before April 1, 2025. The CES Awards rules stipulate that products participating in the competition must not have appeared in stores before April 1 of the previous year (i.e. 01/04/24) and be marketed before April 1 of the current year, i.e. by 01/04/25. It remains to be seen whether LG will respect the rules… While waiting for the official announcement of its marketing, know that the LG OLED77W5 TV is equipped with a Zero Connect Box wireless box ensuring the transfer of audio-video signals to the TV and the latest generation Alpha 11 AI processor. Of course, the new [abc]Oled[/abc] panel equipped with Primary Tandem RGB technology (see our CES 25 news > LG G5 and LG M5 Oled TVs: 4,000 nits confirmed) will also be there.
As a reminder, the LG W Oled TV series was initially offered in 2017 with the LG W7 (see our CES 17 news > LG W7 Signature Oled TV, first indications of indicative price and availability) with its magnetic wall mounting system and its associated sound bar which grouped together most of the electronics and connectivity (see photo above), to be abandoned three years later with the WX series, in 2020. Note, the LG OLED77W5 is presented in the photo with a "supporting foot", secured in the manner of a fabric or a garment.

It includes LG's most advanced Alpha 11 AI processor inside a Zero Connect box that wirelessly sends the signal from your audio-video sources to the TV, thus offering total freedom of TV placement.
