TV market: forecasts for the period 2024-2027

In late December, Chinese market research and analysis company Sigma Intel held its annual conference in Shenzhen, China, where it shared its sales forecast for the TV market for the period 2024-2027.

The figures shared by Sigma Intel are understood in Sell-In, i.e. the sale of products from manufacturers and producers to resellers/distributors (Sell-Out corresponds to the sale of products to end consumers), and Oled + LCD display technologies. As you will see, Sigma Intel forecasts slightly increasing shipments of televisions for the years 2024 to 2026 (after three years of decline from 2021 to 2023), before a new decline in 2027. On the other hand, the total surface area of TV panels shipped by producers to resellers/distributors is expected to grow steadily, a sign of the presence in homes of televisions with ever larger diagonals.

The TV market, on the other hand, shows constant growth in surface area shipped through sales of ever larger televisions. This should represent 164.3 million square meters in 2024, 171.4 million in 2025, 177.8 million in 2026 and 180.1 million in 2027 (see graph above).
