We continue our overview with the Philips TAB8500, the reference presented by its creator as the flagship of the 2025 soundbar fleet, with the most sophisticated and comprehensive technical characteristics.
Philips TAB8500, main specifications££££
The Philips TAB8500 is a [abc]3.1.2[/abc] model, with wireless external subwoofer, compatible with [abc]Dolby Atmos[/abc], [abc]DTS:X[/abc] and DTS Virtual:X. The total power delivered is 300 W: 5 x 30 W for the five speakers of the soundbar (three 5.7 cm wideband speakers + 2 HP Height 5 cm wideband) + 150 W for the subwoofer ([abc]boomer[/abc] 20.32 cm). The latter, rectangular in shape, can be positioned vertically or horizontally for perfect integration into any interior. Of course, the processing of low frequencies is modified accordingly for a consistently consistent rendering.
The Philips TAB8500 also has [abc]Bluetooth[/abc] 5.4 LE compatibility. The design of the sound bar is inspired by that of the Philips TAB6100, which is elliptical in shape. Its dimensions, 65 mm high by 105 mm deep and 900 mm long, make it particularly suitable for televisions with diagonals of 55" to 75 inches. It is also perfectly suited to TVs with a central stand, for example the Philips MLED910/MLED950 Mini LED models, which, like it, have a shiny chrome finish with a satin appearance.
Philips TAB8500, connectivity££££
In addition to Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, the Philips TAB8500 sports connectivity with an [abc]HDMI[/abc] 2.1 [abc]eARC[/abc] connector. Good news, the latter is equipped with the 4K/120 Pass-Throught function. The Philips TAB8200 is controlled via transport buttons at the top associated with colored [abc]LEDs[/abc] to view the selected source. But it can also be managed through the supplied remote control or the Philips Entertainment application.
