Philips MLED950 The Xtra, 4.1 sound section and Ambilight Plus function££££
The Philips MLED950 The Xtra TVs feature a [abc]4.1[/abc] sound section with a power of 60 W: two speakers radiate downwards, two others on the sides plus a subwoofer at the rear. The three-sided Ambilight function is still available, but in a Plus version in 2025 (like the Philips 65OLED959 model from 2024). This more sophisticated one uses special lenses on each color LED for a larger, more dynamic colored halo and stunning two-dimensional effects. Up to four separate halos across 192 independent zones can be projected, each at different depths relative to the screen for increased immersion. Of course, as has been the case for the past two years, the color diodes placed on the back of the TV are managed independently and no longer by group of diodes, for significantly more precise synchronization with the images displayed on the screen.
TV Philips MLED950 The Xtra, Smart TV Titan OS££££
No Google TV or Android TV on the Philips MLED950 The Xtra screens, but the new Smart TV Titan OS 2025 interface developed in partnership with the European company of the same name and launched last year on the Philips PML9049 Mini LED and Philips PUS8909 LED TV series. This operating system, created by former employees of Disney, Roku, Rakuten, KKR, etc., allows access to the biggest streaming services (Netflix, Prime Video, YouoTube, Disney+, Pluto TV, DAZN, etc.). Likewise, it integrates the new Moments application allowing the rapid transfer to the big screen of your favorite photos stored on your smartphone and the addition of visual and sound effects, etc.
TV Philips MLED950 The Xtra, new Game Bar 2.0££££
Of course, the Game Bar is still present on the Philips MLED950 The Xtra TVs but in a 2.0 version, that is to say offering access to the Cloud Gaming Blacknut and Boosteroid services. Otherwise, it allows users to quickly access game-related settings and change them on the fly without wasting time. The native 144 Hz panel, MEMC Gaming motion compensation processing and HDR Dolby Vision Gaming 120 Hz, offer an exceptional video gaming experience. The player can choose from several game profiles (FPS, RPG, etc.). The same goes for Ambilight. Namely, the Game Bar 2.0 displays an im/s counter (number of frames per second) to best configure the settings of a game and the FreeSync Premium Pro certification.
Also for the Game Bar 2.0, in the presence of the most popular games on the market it recognizes their title and applies the associated optimized settings. It is also possible for the user to save a specific audio-video setting according to their games. Subsequently, the television will recognize the game displayed and automatically apply the saved settings. Finally, the Game Bar 2.0 allows a careful choice of display colors within a wider panel and various filters.
