Tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee had the opportunity to test out a prototype of the extended reality headset, or XR (VR and AR) developed by Samsung and Google, already mentioned in our pages several times.
Samsung Android XR headset, advanced prototype close to the Apple Vision Pro££££
This hands-on resulted in a video in which the technology fan shows what this device - codenamed Project Moohan - is capable of, which is not yet a marketable product, let's remember. To summarize, the headset is very close to the Apple Vision Pro, both in its design and its features. However, we note the absence of an upper headband, which apparently does not hinder comfort, and the possibility of connecting any type of external battery [abc]USB[/abc]-C, and not a proprietary model. On the software side, the new Android XR interface resembles the OS of Apple's headset, with exclusively gesture control and virtual desktops that appear as an overlay on reality.

A big difference, however, is the integration of an XR version of the Gemini artificial intelligence, which can be asked questions at any time, particularly about surrounding objects. There is even the Surround to Search function, which seems very intuitive in this context. Finally, note the compatibility with the entire Google Play catalog, in addition to dedicated applications. All that remains is to know how much this device will cost, an essential factor for its success given that Apple has decided to launch a very, even too expensive headset. No details on the launch date either, but the progress of the project is enough to say that it should not be too long.
