After the Paris 2024 Olympic Games broadcast in HDR10 and Dolby Atmos last summer, France Télévisions is inviting owners of a 4K UHD television located in 4K TNT coverage areas to follow the Martinique Carnival live at the beginning of March. No Dolby Atmos this time, only stereo but video specifications that are higher than those of the Olympic Games.

In addition to promoting Martinique's overseas culture, this will be an opportunity for France Télévisions to test, as a world premiere, the live DTT broadcast of native Ultra HD 4K HDR10+ and HDR Dolby Vision content (both signals will be broadcast simultaneously), in 50 frames per second and Rec.2020 gamut, and to enjoy it on a compatible television ([abc]HDR10[/abc] for others). The rest of the programs broadcast during this period, i.e. the fill loops, will benefit from UHD [abc]Upscaling[/abc]. Namely, the reruns will also benefit from the native Ultra HD 4K format. This event will be available through the Martinique La 1ère UHD event channel, on channel 53 in mainland France, channel 23 in overseas territories.
