TV market 2024: Samsung global leader for the 19th consecutive year

Samsung, still the world TV market leader in 2024, still reigns supreme for a nineteenth consecutive year!

In another year, Samsung will reach four years of global leadership in the global TV market for an unprecedented performance. A domination that began in 2006 with the launch of the Bordeaux LCD TV range, to continue with the first LED TV in 2009, the first Smart TV in 2011, the first QLED TV in 2017, the first Neo QLED Mini LED and Micro LED TVs in 2021, and finally, the first QD Oled TV in 2022.

According to the market research and analysis firm Omdia, Samsung would represent 28.3% of sales in the TV market in 2024, the latter would show an increase of 3% (a first in three years) to 208.83 million units. In 2024, Samsung will dominate the premium TV segment (at +$2,500 per TV) with a 46.9% market share. In the 75" (191 cm) and larger broadcaster segment, Samsung's market share would amount to 28.7%.

In 2024, Samsung would have sold 8.34 million QLED TVs, or 46.8% of this market segment, the latter showing significant growth by exceeding 10% of the overall TV sales volume for the first time. In the Oled TV sector, Samsung would have sold 1.44 million units, or a market share of 27.3%, up 42% compared to 2023.
