According to weekly leaks collected by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple has begun developing a connected door opening system, equipped with the Face ID technology introduced and popularized by the iPhone.

In other words, a doorbell equipped with a camera like Amazon's Ring or Google Nest, connected to a lock (presumably in the Apple HomeKit ecosystem) that opens automatically when the user is recognized. Few details are obviously circulating about this product, but it should emphasize data security and respect for privacy. It should thus include Apple's future [abc]Wi-Fi[/abc] chip, focused on security through the brand's HomeKit secure video storage service since the lock recorded the camera feed. If it comes to fruition, this product will not be released before 2026.
